Bam Huey hand painted spinning fiber is 60% Merino 40% Bamboo. I hand paint the fiber with Landscape Dyes and use steam to set the dye, which leaves the fiber fluffy and easy to spin. Bam Huey fiber is soft yet strong, making it wonderful for next to the skin wear from socks to shawls.
I love reading fairy tales! I've always thought that Rumplestilskin wasn't a very nice guy but he had a great job spinning. I complain that Disney didn't get things exactly right with their spinning wheels and how Sleeping Beauty could prick herself on the poison quill. Then there is the Poison Apple that Snow White consumed..... that is what I was thinking about the day I came up with this color combo. The blended shades of red change with each turn of the fiber, each shade of red prettier than the last, just like the Poison Apple that was more beautiful and tempting with every turn. Unlike Snow White you can give into this Poison Apple and not fall into internal sleep :)
